2018-2020 GFWC-MFWC Board of

Directors Application

Dear Mississippi Federation of Women’s Club Members,

With the close of the 2018 GFWC-MFWC Convention in Gulfport, Mississippi, the 2018-2020 administration will officially begin. It is my hope that all of you will be just as excited about being a part of our Federation during the upcoming administration as you have been these past two years. The purpose of this letter is to invite, encourage, and challenge you to apply for a position on the Executive Board. Some of you have already expressed your desires, and some know that our Bylaws will require a change on the Board for them. Furthermore, those allowed by our bylaws to continue in their current position may wish to serve in another area, or that area may have an opening for an assistant chairman. I have included the list of positions, the responsibilities of each position, and the tentative dates of upcoming meetings.  Some board positions will not be listed as those positions are filled by virtue of state and district offices.

Please keep in mind when you apply, that while sometimes emergencies arise beyond our control, we expect a high level of commitment from our GFWC-MFWC Board of Directors and your attendance is important to the success of this administration. Although it is our hope to appoint assistant chairmen in some areas, it will be the chairmen’s responsibility to take the lead position. Your Executive officers ask that you please make your position a priority by:

I am extremely excited and equally humbled to be chosen to lead our organization. It is my hope, and my goal, that through your support, we will build on our history and our members will continue to be more informed, more inspired, and more empowered to serve.  To those members who choose not to continue to serve on the board or cannot apply for a position at this time, I thank you, and look forward to your attendance at Summer Institute, District and State Conventions, as well as your support of Federation initiated volunteer opportunities during the 2018-2020 Administration.
